The First Kiwanis South Porcupine Beaver group launched model rockets over the weekend. Thanks to Andrew Coholic and member of the Timmins Golden Hawks model airplane club, the beavers had a chance to learn, build and fly model rockets. As part of the new Canadian Path program in Scouting the beavers are doing more STEM related activities. Thanks to Andrew, the beavers were taught how the rockets work, they each built one at a beaver meeting and then launched them at the Golden Hawk’s airfield. Thanks to Great Hobbies for giving a discount on the order and to Andrew for donating the rockets and his time. The Beavers has a “blast”!
